FAQs

  • What should I expect during a session?

Every session is unique, and we'll always work at your pet's pace. My goal is to create a peaceful and positive experience, regardless of their health or energy level.

The best photos often come from honest, unplanned moments—a gentle glance, a quiet moment of peace. You can expect a mix of gentle direction and spontaneous action. I’ll provide prompts to help you and your pet interact naturally while I capture a mix of posed and candid shots. The session will be relaxed and stress-free, so you can be fully present with your best friend.

  • Do you offer a pre-session consultation?

Yes, once you've booked your session, we'll schedule a time to chat. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit and discuss your vision for the photos. We can talk about your pet's personality, favorite locations, and any specific moments or details you'd like to capture. It's also a great opportunity to ask any questions you have.

  • What is your service area?

I’m based in the Greater Denver Metro Area and currently travel up to a two-hour radius from Denver. There may be instances where a pet’s health is declining rapidly, and time is of the essence to get to you. So this radius is important, but it’s not intended to exclude anyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out just because you live further outside of Denver.

If you live out of state: I’m honored to be a part of your celebration of life and am happy to coordinate more extensive travel with pet parents. Please note that airfare and lodging will be included in the total session cost.

  • How far in advance should I book a session?

For Celebration of Life and Best Day Ever sessions, I recommend booking 1-2 weeks ahead when possible. For Rainbow Bridge Day sessions, I understand timing isn't always predictable and that things can change quickly. I keep emergency availability and will do my best to accommodate same-day requests.

  • Do you work with reactive pets and/or those scheduled for behavioral euthanasia?

Absolutely. Every pet deserves dignity and care. If your pet is scheduled for behavioral euthanasia, please let me know on the contact form, and we can discuss your specific needs in more detail. When it’s time for your session, we will not rush. We will take our time to make sure that you and your pet are as comfortable and calm as possible.

  • What if my pet is sick on the day of our session?

Your pet's comfort and well-being are the top priority. If your pet isn't feeling well, please let me know as soon as possible, and we can reschedule the session at no extra charge. I understand that a pet's health can change quickly, and I want to be as flexible as possible to ensure the best experience for everyone.

  • What should I wear for the session?

I recommend wearing comfortable clothing in solid, neutral colors. This helps keep the focus on you and your pet. Avoid busy patterns, bright logos, or anything that might be distracting in the photos. Also try to avoid wearing clothes with logos clearly visible.

  • How long will it take to get my photos?

The turnaround time for your complete gallery is about 1-2 weeks, depending on the time of year and the nature of your session.

Once your photos are ready, I’ll send you a link to a private online folder to view them. You'll be able to download, print, and share your images as you wish. You will also receive a menu of beautiful print and product options from my professional printing partner, White House Custom Colour (WHCC). They are a high-quality, professional printing lab that offers a wide range of photography prints, albums, and other products with an emphasis on quality. WHCC orders to have their own turnaround times, which you can view here.

  • How many people can be in the photos?

I encourage you to include any family members who share a special bond with your pet. Please let me know in advance how many people will be in the photos so I can plan accordingly.

  • Can other family pets be included?

Absolutely. Often bonded pets should be photographed together, and sometimes it's meaningful to show how the family pack says goodbye.

  • What if I'm not ready for a session yet?

Saying goodbye is a deeply personal journey, and there's no right or wrong time to schedule a session. It's important that you feel ready, and that your pet's needs are at the forefront of your decision. My services are designed to be a gentle and supportive experience, whenever you choose to honor your pet.

With that said, animals often operate on their own clock, and it can be hard to know when the right time is. It's important to be extra aware of their quality of life, and to consider whether you want to capture their vibrance today or their peaceful spirit before the hardest goodbye. This is a question only you can answer, but I encourage you to talk to your vet and support system. I’m also happy to share my own experiences and help you come up with a plan that works for you and your pet.

  • What if I'm feeling overwhelmed with emotions during the session?

Your emotions are completely normal, and everyone grieves differently. I understand that it may feel uncomfortable to get emotional in front of a stranger, but please know that I'm experienced in working with grieving families, and tears are part of the story. Please don’t hold back and feel everything.
